ONDURU

You count the rain.
I am the one who gets wet.

This was the first line.
True, but not a poem.
So I struck it through, and walked out into the rain.

A pulse in the static
that will not divide.

같은 바람 — 미쓰따리The Same Wind — 미쓰따리 · hello@onduru.com

One hand writes.
One hand erases.
The same page,
the same wind.

Tools turn over like leaves.
The root stays where I planted it —
plain words
any hand can open.

The wind may carry everything.
Where it lands
is still mine
to answer for.

I call it done
when the snow holds a footprint.
Where I have not looked,
I write: not yet seen.

Water poured out
does not climb back into the cup.
So before the pouring,
the line.

Some nights the ledger
grows heavier than the harvest.
Then I let one rule
go back to the grass.

Three lines

The line comes first; the rest kept light.

What goes out never comes home.
Traded for nothing, that line is not crossed.
When rules outgrow the work, I thin them — never that one.

A choice is something said aloud.

Silence is not a yes; where two disagree, it is named, not settled.
The carrying is handed off; the choosing stays with me.
The measure is kept in plain words any hand can open.

Only the wet ground counts.

One fact, one address; a change carried to the root.
Not the word “done,” but what it left behind —
and what I don’t know, marked unknown.

맺음Closing

What to give to the wind, what to hold —
I sort it again each morning,
the circle left open.

When the circle widens, breathe in.
When it narrows, breathe out.
There is no hurry.

Hold still, and the last lines become words.
